Of the 200 organizations recognized by the Chicago Tribune as Best Places to Work, the top three big companies were all local real estate companies: Compass, @properties and Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Chicago, respectively. The Tribune’s annual list was compiled based on employee feedback collected through an anonymous survey conducted by Energage, LLC.
In receiving the highest honor, Compass made the Chicago Tribune list for the third time. The tech-based company expanded to Chicago in 2017 and has since seen significant growth in the region. According to the Tribune’s profile, Compass’ many values include dreaming big, moving fast, maximizing strength and bouncing back with passion.
@properties, Chicagoland’s largest residential real estate brokerage, ranked second this year. The current number of employees, according to the Tribune, is 3,471. The document profile also lists three core values of @properties: “It’s all about relationship”, “Enhance innovation” and “Strive for excellence”. 2021 marks the fourth year in a row that @properties has made the Best Workplaces list.
And in third place is Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Chicago. This designation marks the third consecutive year that BHHS Chicago has ranked among the newspaper’s top three companies. “This award is made all the more enjoyable by being based on unbiased feedback from our agents and employees…” CEO Diane Glass said in a press release. “In over 1,000 comments they pointed out what we’re doing well – and it’s a wonderful affirmation that we’re on the right track – as well as some ideas for improvement, which we like and appreciate. Basically, we are a community of passionate, inclusive and committed professionals who support and uplift each other while helping buyers, sellers and renters happily achieve their real estate goals.
