Jeff, please tell us a bit about the Leonard & Newland Real Estate office on Main Street in Newcomerstown.

“My partner, Wayne Newland, and I were both employed by other real estate companies for several years and decided to start our own real estate company and work for ourselves. So, we opened the Zanesville office in August 2017. After being successful there and expanding our team, the Cambridge office also became a reality. I live in Cambridge and am very involved in the community so this is a great place for me. I sit on Cambridge City Council, in addition to being involved with Cambridge Main Street, a very active organization dedicated to revitalizing, preserving our historic roots and stimulating the economic development of Cambridge city center.

“Over time, more and more real estate agents joined the Leonard and Newland Real Estate Service group, and many came from the Newcomerstown area. Initially, they were operating out of the Cambridge or Zanesville office. Two years ago we had a meeting with the Newcomerstown group. The dinner was held at the Touraine Club one evening, and Wayne and I asked what we could do to improve the services they provided to their community. well, it was unanimous – they all wanted an office in Newcomerstown to function. We were lucky to rent space from Dan Styer, a long-time lawyer for many years, and it worked really well for us. “

What kind of services does Leonard & Newland Realty offer to its clients?

“All Leonard & Newland real estate agents are responsive and client-based from the start of your home search until the close of your new real estate purchase or sale of your property. We have in-depth knowledge and expertise. in real estate services. We serve not only Newcomerstown, but the surrounding counties, so if you are looking outside the county, we are always your real estate firm. Our specialty areas include residential homes, land and land, including more commercial properties.

“Right now it’s an exciting time for buyers and sellers. However, even with the excitement, buying or selling can be one of the most stressful transactions you will come across. Our team has the capabilities and skills to help our clients take advantage of a positive property search, and a smooth closing on that property or in turn, selling one cheaply. At Leonard & Newland, we strive to provide you with excellent customer service and help make your new home dreams come true. Our real estate agents want to be an integral part of one of you and the greatest moments of your family.

You recently bought buildings on Main Street – why did you decide to invest in the village of Newcomerstown?

“Leonard & Newland invests and manages our own commercial properties, and recently Dan Styer put several buildings on Main Street up for sale. Our location was included in the list. Wayne and I have grown to love Newcomerstown. It’s a

great community with a lot of potential. It ended up being an easy decision; we decided to buy and renovate the apartments above the four buildings. We are investing money right now in a new roof for buildings, and necessities for heating, air conditioning, electricity and more. Over time, the cosmetic part will materialize. We are proud to be part of Newcomerstown Main Street.

“We understand that Mayor Pat Cadle, Newcomerstown Council and Our Village – Newcomerstown committee are joining forces to write grants and make Main Street look a lot like Cambridge. As a member of Main Street, Cambridge , I will support this movement. I hope to be able to offer suggestions and ideas. Mayor Cadle has been very supportive in welcoming Leonard & Newland Real Estate Services to Newcomerstown, and we in turn want to give back to this community. I joke about the cheeseburger I had at Touraine Club a few years ago, it was the most expensive I have ever had because I never dreamed of Wayne and I would end up buying a block whole building, but it has been a great initiative for us, and we like to think for the whole community. Vacant buildings are filling up on Main Street, we are selling properties and for that we are thankful to God, l the community and our customers.

What would you like to highlight for us?

“Once again I want to mention how happy Wayne and I are to own Newcomerstown. We hope to continue to invest in our buildings and to be at the forefront of revitalizing downtown Newcomerstown. We have a large seller’s market right now. Our ads are sold within 24 to 48 hours. If a decision is not made relatively quickly; a house can be bought by another buyer.

“This is a great scenario for our realtors, but not so much for the clients we serve. We will be as clear as possible about when we think a house will sell, so you have the information you need to take. We also recommend that clients get pre-approved so you know you are ready to take on a home loan and what price range you want to stay in. Due to homes and properties selling so quickly , we are looking for listings in Newcomerstown and the surrounding area. Please call our office at 740-297-8689 if you are interested in buying or selling, and we will be happy to assist you. I will leave you with our motto here at Leonard and Newland: “We’ll get to you,” and while we’re at it, it will be a positive and joyful experience.
